Tullahoma Locally Grown: Christmas update!
Hey everyone,
This week we have a new grower! Hope for Health offers healthy baked goods and candies, just in time for the holidays.
Solace Farm has added 2 sheepskin rugs. How cool is that?? She also has super cool garlic leaf card sets, look for them in the Farm Crafts category.
I also wanted to remind everyone that Fountain Springs Farm pork and chicken must be ordered by Monday night every week.
Our next few pickups are Thursday the 18th, Tuesday the 23rd, and Tuesday the 30th. This means ordering will end Mondays at noon. We will be back on schedule Thursday January 8th.
Dogwood Valley Greenhouse is taking orders through December 22 for beautiful Christmas kissing balls. Made with live greens and other natural materials, these balls are about 18" in diameter and come in three styles, shown on the market. Each one is mounted on a sturdy hanger and includes a festive red ribbon bow. They are suitable to hang on a shepherd’s crook or from a chain for a beautiful outside Christmas decoration.
Make a collection of common culinary herbs, to give as a gift or to keep for yourself. Please see the description under ‘Farm Crafts,’ ‘Weekly Specials,’ ‘Live Plants – Dish Gardens,’ or ‘Live Plants – Herbs’; and specify your choice of herbs. We have a good selection of herbs available, and have expanded the list from last year. Included are:
Mints (chocolate, peppermint, pineapple [variegated], spearmint, grapefruit)
Oregano (Greek or variegated)
Rue
Rosemary
Sage, Garden
Thyme (Lemon, English, silver-edged, citrus, lime)
Lemon balm
Stevia (small but healthy)
If intended as a gift, please order your herb collection early to allow time for custom preparation. Includes planter, and will make a unique living Christmas centerpiece as well.

Cape Locally Grown: Seasons Greetings and a Gift for you!
Seasons Greetings!
It’s that time of year again when we show appreciation to the ones we hold dear, both friends and family.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the local farmers, growers, and artisans that make up Cape Locally Grown. As a Christmas gift, we are offering all of our customers $5.00 off this week on their orders of $30.00 or more. Take advantage of the local meats, baked goods, veggies, nuts, soaps, and clothing items available this week for your Christmas time celebrations!
New growers this week include Steve McKaskle’s family farm (Braggadocio, Missouri) in the Missouri Bootheel. He grows high quality certified organic rice, popcorn and corn meal products. They make a great addition to our market and provide you with more opportunities to support local growers.
Also April Calvin at Crow Moon Farm (Fredericktown, Missouri) brings her luxurious soaps made from organic oils and essential oils. If you want a special gift this Christmas, this soap is it!
For Christmas shopping, check out our gift certificates that make a great stocking stuffer for your locavore friends. Also our gift boxes are a great way to get a taste of local flavor for family and friends as our boxes offer several growers’ products in one gift!
Don’t forget the other great products for your Christmas celebration – grass-fed beef from Double B Ranch, ice cream from Cream of the Crust, eggs from Manoor Manor, baked goods and salad greens from Green’s Garden, jams and winter squash from Null Farms Produce, black walnuts from First Fruits, alpaca wear from Three Sisters Farm, and young fryer rabbits from Maple Cottage Farm.
We appreciate your support as we do our part in helping to build our local food system.
